As a young woman she worked for Granite Construction, PV Bank, and the medical office of Dr. Geiberson. In 1949 she married R.M. (Mike) Gabriel beginning her life and family in Hollister.
She volunteered with the Cub Scouts, Girl Scouts, 4H, and as a Pink Lady at Hazel Hawkins Hospital, working in the gift shop and the HHH Auxiliary.
Betty enjoyed big band music, her garden of flowers, vegetables and fruit trees, and the peaceful atmosphere of local ranches. She shared her love of the beaches and mountains with an extensive circle of friends while walking/hiking, fishing, sewing, playing bridge, and traveling. She was also a huge sports fan of the Giants, 49ers and Stanford teams, and active in Ladies Golf Clubs at Bolado and Ridgemark.
She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Mike; children Connie (Tom), Jade (Gary), and Mitch (Marianne); grandchildren Margaret, Abby (Jon), Brian (Valarie), Eric, Josh (Faern), Steve (Helmi), and great-granddaughters Sydney and Karle, and her sister Adrienne (Fred) Purtill, and sisters-in-law Margie Gabriel and JereAnn Hall, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Ed Hall, and brother-in-law Don Gabriel.
