Emilio P. Leon passed away at the age of 92 years. A native of Mexico, Emilio lived in San Benito County since 1962. Emilio worked as a field worker for Almaden and later a cannery worker for Fairview Canning Company and Contadina Foods. A member of Teamsters Local 890, of Salinas.

Emilio loved the out-of-doors and family gatherings. A avid walker and reader, especially about history. He was predeceased by his first wife Elvira Covarrubias in 1960 and Maria Leon in 2010.

Survivors are his children Victor Leon (Adela), Rosario Marlow (Victor), and Laurentina Leon Nyberg (Russell); his grandchildren Blanca, Yolanda, Fernando, Victor, Elvira, Veronica, Abraham, Elizabeth, Alejandro, Angelina, Giovanni, Christopher, Nicolas, and Adrian; and 16 great-grandchildren. Emilio ws the last of seven children- he had five brothers and one sister.

Visitation will be Tuesday, January 17th, 2012, from 12:00 noon until 8:30 P.M. with a Vigil Service at 7:00 P.M. at Grunnagle Funeral Home. The memorial service will be Wednesday morning at 10:00 A.M. at the mortuary followed by interment at Calvary Cemetery. Visit: www.grunnagle.com for condolences
