Esperanza (Hope) Cuellar passed away on February 19, 2012 at her home surrounded by family. She is survived by her husband Alfred Cuellar, daughter Romelia (Romie) Cuellar, Grandson Matthew Sanchez, granddaughter Erica Sanchez and great granddaughter Kailee Skye, all of Gilroy. Sister of Aurora Sandoval (Francisco) of Hollister and Manuel Leyvas of Gilroy. Considered a sister of Dolores Portello of Gilroy. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews including Ruben Espinoza who considered her as a mother.

 She was preceded in death by her parents Jose Espinoza and Francisca Duran, siblings Juanita Leyvas, Mary (Licha) Portello, Felix (Chano) Espinoza, Raul Espinoza and Jesus (Hito) Espinoza.

 She will be remembered for her kindness to children and those in need. She was a caretaker to her father and brother Hito. She listened to everyone’s problems over pan dulce and coffee. She was lovingly referred to as Espi by her family and friends. She was a strong spirit and will be greatly missed.

 Visitation will be held Monday, February 27, 2012, beginning at 1:00 P.M. with a Vigil at 6:00 P.M. both at Habing Family Funeral Home. Funeral Mass Tuesday, February 28, 2012, at 11:30 A.M at St. Mary Catholic Church. Burial will follow at St. Mary Cemetery.

 Hope supported many charities including Boys Town. In lieu of flowers, you may donate in her name to your favorite charity.
