Esteban Garcia entered into rest at his Hollister home.

He was born in Yuriria, Guanajuato, Mexico. He worked as a farm laborer in the San Juan Bautista Valley and was a self employed farmer in Gilroy for many years. He moved to Hollister in 1993 to be close to his children.

He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and enjoyed gardening. He is preceded in death by his first wife, Andrea, who died in 1975 and his son, Daniel, who died in 1987.

He is survived by his wife, Amelia Garcia of Hollister, his children and their spouses, Lydia and David Vasquez of San Jose, Esperanza and Archer Walters of Hollister, Rebecca Garcia of Hollister, Steve and Chris Garcia of Hollister and Caroline Garcia of Hollister, his brother and sister, Agustin Garcia of Hollister and Josefina Carmona of Chicago, IL. He is preceded in death by his brother, Jesus Garcia who died recently and is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

Friends can pay their respects on Thurs. Oct. 19th from 12:00 noon until 9:00 PM at Black Cooper Sander Funeral Home. Family will have a time of sharing at 7:00 pm and the Rosary will begin at 7:30 pm.

The Mass will be on Friday at 10:00 am at Sacred Heart Church in Hollister. Friends can gather at the funeral home chapel for a procession to the church at 9:30 am.

Interment will follow the Mass at Calvary Cemetery.
