Services will be held on Saturday, December 7, 2013, at the Grunnagle Ament Nelson Funeral Home 870 San Benito St., Hollister at 10:00 A.M., with military honors provided by Hollister Post 9242, V.F.W. followed by a celebration of his life at the family ranch in Paicines.  Eugene was born in Hollister to Elmer and Dollie Loveless. The family moved to Gilroy where he graduated from Gilroy High School and attended Gavilan College before being drafted into the Army and serving in the military police at Fort Mead, Maryland.
 In 1968 he married his wife Joan (Lawton) Loveless and they have spent the last 45 years together making their home in San Benito County.
 He spent many years working at Wiebe Manufacturing, followed by Trinchero Construction, and was currently employed by California State Park at Hollister Hills. Avid sportsman, Gene loved to fish and hunt, and more than anything, spending time with his children and his grandson.
 He is survived by his wife Joan; son Steven (Tracy) Loveless; daughter Laurie Loveless; grandchildren Gunner Loveless and Makiley Mezera; sister Sue Oliveira, nephew Shawn (Veronica) Shannon, brother-in-law George Lawton and nieces Amie Lawton and Christina Lawton.
