In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a gift of goodwill toward someone in need. Father Dan of Saint Mary’s Catholic Church in Gilroy has provided blessings for Eva and several masses in her honor. Online condolences at HabingFamilyFuneralHome.com.

Eva Marie Trinchero passed away late Thursday, November 22, 2012, at the age of 95. She was born Eva Marie Rocchi, August 18, 1917, near Dos Palos, CA.

Eva lived with her parents, Giuseppe and Carmelita Rocchi (both Italian immigrants) and her nine brothers and sisters. They relocated to Gilroy where she worked for the family of her future husband, Andrew (Andy) Trinchero.

She mentioned more than once that when they met, she did not like him; but he managed to convince her to become his wife and they married the summer of 1937 (honeymoon in Santa Barbara, CA as pictured). They shared 72 years of marriage until his death in 2008. Even toward the end, they managed to steal kisses and waltz in the kitchen.

Eva and Andy had several businesses through the years and were most known for their restaurant and bar, The Hecker Pass Inn. Andy was a great chef, but everyone appreciated Eva’s smiling face as she greeted patrons tirelessly. She made sure everything ran smoothly behind the scenes.

Eva also enjoyed traveling and entertaining. She was an avid golfer and proudly displayed her “Hole in One” trophy.

Eva was a member of several organizations including Women in Touch and the Italian Catholic Federation; she developed many deep and lasting friendships over the years. She was a devout Catholic and if you were a friend, you were no doubt in her nightly prayers.

She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend and left this world a better place.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, John and Patricia Trinchero of Gilroy; grandson Andy Trinchero; granddaughters, Shelley Trinchero of Costa Rica and Shana Trinchero of Santa Cruz; great-grandsons Jimmy Nunes of Morgan Hill and Mackenzie and Riley Hesson both of Santa Cruz.

Eva was preceded in death by her husband Andrew Trinchero; son Jim Trinchero and all of her brothers and sisters: Pietro, Manuel, Oresti, Donald, Louis and Jo! seph Rocchi, Esther Gervais, Elsie Besson, and Nancy Rocchi.
