A CDF aircraft drops a load of fire retardant on a small grass fire along the San Benito river bed Tuesday afternoon.

A fire along San Benito river fire burned approximately two to three acres behind the San Benito High School football field around 5:30 p.m. The Hollister Fire Department assisted the California Department of Forestry, which had four fire engines, a bulldozer and two planes respond to the blaze that burned about an hour and a half.
