Frank R. Blake died Monday, December 16, 2002 at Hazel Hawkins Northside Convalescent Hospital after a lengthy illness. He was 77.
Mr. Blake was born and raised in Santa Clara. After graduating from Santa Clara High School, he joined the U.S. Navy and toured the South Pacific during World War II. He later received a teaching degree from San Jose State University and taught at Ida Price Junior High School in San Jose for 28 years.
Upon his retirement he moved to Hollister and lived at Ridgemark. He was a member of the Elks Lodge and S.I.R.S. in Hollister and was an avid fan of the San Francisco Giants and 49ers. He and his wife traveled to Europe three times and attended three Olympic Games.
He is survived by his wife, Beverly Ann Blake of Hollister; his daughters, Colleen Blake McGee of Hollister, Claudia Blake and her husband, Walter, of Studio City, Susan Lehnerer and her husband, Henrik, of Ojai, Beverly Blake of Laguna Hills and Mary Liz Longueuiel and her husband, Chris, of Laguna Hills; his sister, Pat Fierro of Montana; his brother, Tom Blake of San Jose; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Resurrection will be offered Saturday, Dec. 21 at 11 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Church in Tres Pinos. Private cremation has been conducted through Grunnagle-Ament-Nelson Funeral Home and Crematory.
Memorials are preferred to the San Benito County Kinship Center or Second Harvest Food Bank in care of the funeral home.
