Gail Nelson, 76 years young, of Henderson, NV, passed away April 21, 2013, after a heroic fight against cancer.
She was born June 19, 1936 in Midland, Ontario, Canada and came to the United States in 1949. Formerly of Gilroy, CA, Gail was an 11-year resident of Henderson.
A dedicated elementary school teacher for 39 years, Gail had a lifelong love of learning, especially in history, music and literature, and was an accomplished poet.
More than anything else, Gail enjoyed spending time with her family, and traveling, whether it was across the United States and Canada in a motor home, or on cruise ships around the world.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Alexander Milligan, M.D. and Marguerite Milligan.
She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Lew Nelson; daughters Michelle Nelson and Lee Anne Gaxiola (Dennis), both of Gilroy, CA; only grandson, her “little love” Jeffrey Thompson, of Gilroy, CA; sister, Nancy Howard, of Hollister, CA; brother, Denny Milligan (Connie) of San Diego, CA; niece Kim Howard of Burlington, VT; nephew, Chris Howard, of Copenhagen, Denmark.
A loving wife, mother, grandmother, and aunt, Gail may no longer be with us in body, but we will always carry her spirit in our hearts.
