A Gilroy man is one of five suspects incarcerated in a Louisiana jail following the alleged rape of an unconscious woman early Saturday morning, officials said.
Bail was set Monday at $1 million for David Flores, 31, and four other men who were scheduled to appear before an East Feliciana Parish judge, Sheriff’s Detective Don McKey said.
Flores, along with James Cordova, 23, Dawante Jones, 19, Fred Felix, 25, and Pete Perez, 22, face charges of forcible rape and illegal discharge of a firearm.
Sheriff’s deputies were called to a trailer park around 2 a.m. Saturday in Clinton, La. – about 30 miles north of Baton Rouge – after reported gunshots, McKey said.
Deputies discovered an unresponsive 35-year-old white female with her clothing pulled halfway off lying in the back seat of a pick-up truck. Several condoms were also found on the floor of the pick-up, McKey said.
The men were arrested after “none of them got their story straight,” McKey said.
Deputies believe the woman was likely drugged or intoxicated, he said.
