A 73-year-old Hollister man has been missing for nearly two days after failing to pick up his granddaughter on Tuesday, Hollister police said.

The police department is asking the public for help find Ralph Santos after officers and family members have scoured the area in hopes of finding Santos and bringing him home safely.

Santos is 5-feet, 6-inches tall and weighs about 150 pounds, with light gray hair, police said.

Investigators said Santos was driving his maroon 2002 Kia Optima, license plate number 5BBT748, in Hollister at about 11 a.m. Tuesday.

Santos was also reportedly seen that day in the company of an unknown Hispanic male adult who is described as being about 5-feet, 8-inches tall, with a medium build and having salt-and-pepper colored hair, police said.

The unknown man seen with Santos was reportedly driving an older model two-tone Geo Prizm.

Santos’ disappearance is considered to be out of character for him. He not only neglected to pick up his granddaughter from school on Tuesday, he missed his granddaughter’s graduation on Wednesday, police said.

Santos’ family is especially concerned about his disappearance because he has a heart condition and they do not know if he has his medication with him.

Anyone with information about the disappearance should call the HPD at 636-4330 and ask for the on-duty watch commander.

Anyone who may know the owner of the Geo Prizm that Santos was reportedly seen with on Tuesday is also asked to call the police.
