Guadalupe Garcia Gutierrez died on June 22nd at his Hollister
home at the age of 79.
Guadalupe Garcia Gutierrez died on June 22nd at his Hollister home at the age of 79.

He was born in Brownsville, Texas and lived in Hollister for 53 years. He was a member of Teamsters Union Local 890 and worked as a supervisor in the local cannery. He enjoyed travelling with his family to European countries, Italy and Austria and Mexico and around the USA. He also enjoyed going on senior citizen excursions. He is preceded in death by his wife, Maria and his son Frank.

He is survived by his children and their spouses, Raul Gutierrez of Los Banos, Manuel Gutierrez of Hollister, Yolanda and Ben Calimpong of Gilroy, Henry and Teri Gutierrez of Hollister, Mary and Arnold Montoya of Hollister and Sylvia and Tony Jaime of Hollister, his brothers and sisters, Ismael Gutierrez of Hollister, William Gutierrez of Texas, Natalia Palomares of Texas, Lucia Gutierrez of Texas, Juan Gutierrez of Texas, Antonio Gutierrez of Texas and Carolina Lopez of Texas.

He is also survived by his 13 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren

Prayer services will be held on Monday, June 27, 2005 at 7:00pm at Black Cooper Sander Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 10:00am at the funeral home.

Interment will follow the services at the IOOF Cemetery in the Gutierrez family plot where Mr. Gutierrez will be interred next to his wife, Maria.

Friends can pay their respects on Monday from 12:00 noon until 9:00pm at the funeral home chapel.

A reception will follow the funeral at Mr. Gutierrez’ home in Hollister.
