Helen Kosier August 6, 1928 – November 17, 2016
Helen Wright Kosier passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family on Thursday, November 17, 2016 at Saint Louise Regional Hospital in Gilroy, California. Helen was born in Clinton, TN on August 6, 1928. She was an artist, an avid knitter, and a piano player and teacher. She enjoyed tatting, reading and spending time with her cat. She was a lifelong St. Louis Cardinals fan and never missed a game. Helen lived in Tennessee for 80 years and moved to Gilroy in 2008 to be closer to her daughter and family. Her two favorite places to be were in the beautiful Smokey Mountains in Tennessee and in Monterey, California on 17 Mile Drive. Helen is survived by her daughter, Denise Melroy, her son, Michael Kosier, her brother, Ken Wright, her son in law, Owen Melroy, and her two granddaughters, Whitney and Laura. Helen’s husband, Skip, passed away December 13, 2008 in Knoxville, TN. Helen was laid to rest beside Skip on November 30, 2016, in Knoxville, Tennessee at Berry Highland Memorial Cemetery. A celebration of life will be held at the Morgan Hill United Methodist Church in Morgan Hill, California on December 18, 2016 at 12:30pm.
