The Bureau of Land Management’s Hollister Field Office plans to conduct prescribed burn this fall in northern Fresno County.

Approximately 200 to 250 acres will be burned in the Condon Peak area in late October to mid-November, weather permitting, according to an announcement from the BLM.

The prescribed burn will be conducted when the wind speeds are low and the weather is adequate, according to the BLM, and it will be postponed if the conditions are off.

It is planned to “improve wildlife habitat and reduce brush in the area. The mosaic burn pattern will increase native ecosystems, improve water quality of the watershed, and help provide for public and firefighter safety,” according to the BLM.
