California Highway Patrol

A Hollister man died late Sunday morning in an accident on Highway 101, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The local man who died was 54-year-old William Zeigler, according to the Santa Clara County Medical Examiner-Coroner’s Office.
Zeigler was driving a 2005 Ford F-150 truck alone headed north on U.S. 101 south of Blossom Hill Road at 11:38 a.m. when, for an undetermined reason, his vehicle drifted off the road and hit a tree east of the highway, according to the CHP.
Neither alcohol nor drugs are suspected as factors. Two lanes were closed for about 30 minutes, according to the CHP.
