On Feb. 18, police arrested Donald Vis, Jr., 32, of Hollister. He is accused of rape and a lewd act against a child – who he had known prior to the incidents, according to police, in a statement released late Friday.
At some point in February, police detectives received information about an adult male having sex with a minor. Detectives developed evidence and made arrangements for the suspect to meet the victim in a public place, according to police.
The suspect arrived to the location in Hollister, but was met by officers and detectives who placed him under arrest, according to police.
Vis was booked into the San Benito County Jail with recommended felony charges of two counts of rape, two counts of lewd acts with a child, and one county of contacting a minor with intent to commit a sexual offense.
His bail has been set at $1 million, according to the police department.
