Police have not located Wagemen.

14-year-old missing for second time since February

The Hollister Police Department is asking for the public’s help in locating a runaway 14-year-old girl that may be in the company of a 41-year-old man.

On July 12, 2012, Selena Burr was reported as a runaway by her foster parent. Her family believes Selena may be with Clint Wageman, 41. Burr ran away before in February of 2012 and was found in the company of  Wageman in the San Francisco area.

There is evidence to suggest that Wageman has maintained contact with Burr since the February incident, according to a police press release. All attempts to locate Wageman have been unsuccessful and there is no vehicle information available for him. He has recent addresses in San Francisco, San Jose, Ceres and the Paradise Springs area.

Selena Burr is a 14-year-old white female. She is 5 feet 9 inches tall, has blond hair, blue eyes, and weighs 175 pounds. Clint Wageman is a white male adult, 6 feet 2 inches tall, 195 pounds, brown hair and brown eyes.

In February, Wageman was arrested in San Francisco. Burr was found five days after her grandmother, who is her legal guardian, initially reported her missing. The San Benito County District Attorney’s office initially planned to charge Wageman under a section 278 of the penal code alleging he enticed, kept, withheld or concealed the girl, but dismissed the charges on Feb. 7.

The day after the hearing, Chief Investigator Jerry Smith called the dismissal “a tactic” by the prosecution, which expected to re-file charges. He said the district attorney’s office wants to prevent charging him with a lesser-than-appropriate crime and not having the capability to allege a more serious charge.

A district attorney’s office investigator said today that the case was returned to the Hollister Police Department for further investigation but no charges have been filed against Wageman in San Benito County.

Wageman is a person of interest in this missing person case. Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Selena Burr is encouraged to call 911 or Detective Ray Celano at the Hollister Police Department, 636-4330.
