Howard Hector Villarreal, age 92, of Eaton, Ohio, died Thursday, November 16, 2006 at Vancrest Health Care Center in Eaton after a short illness. He was born August 13, 1914 in Starr County, TX, the son of the late Ignacio & Belen (Garcia) Villarreal. He has lived in Eaton since the 1970’s and was a retired self-employed Master Carpenter.

Howard was a W.W. II U. S. Navy veteran and was an avid golfer and gardener. He was a life member of American Legion Post #217 of Gilroy, CA; Teamster’s Local Carpenters Union #890 of Santa Clara, CA; Eagles Lodge of Hollister, CA and Visitation Catholic Church in Eaton, OH. He was preceded in death by his wife of 30 years, Augustina Venegas-Villarreal, five brothers and one sister.

Survivors are his son Ronald Villarreal of Hollister, CA, daughters & sons-in-law: Marilyn & Jesse Lerma of Gilroy, CA and Mary Ellen & Steve North of Eaton, Oh, grandchildren; Garron Villarreal, Caleb Villarreal, Seth Villarreal, Jesse Lerma, Monica Miller, Sarah Lerma, Maria North and Patrick North, 8 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Graveside Funeral Service and interment will take place in Hollister, CA at Calvary Cemetery, where he will be reunited with his wife. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton, 324 Wilmington Ave., Dayton, OH 45420, or American Cancer Society , Southwest Home, Eaton, OH.
