San Benito 48, Pacific Grove 32
Baler senior Todd Janisch put on an offensive clinic in the
Balers 48-32 win over Pacific Grove Tuesday night at home.
Janisch’s 27-point performance was so dominant that no other Baler
on the roster scored more than four points in the winning effort.
Tonight, the 3-5 Balers will travel to Oak Grove High School in San
Jose where they will face the Eagles in a 7 p.m. contest.

Anzar 63, St. Francis 41

The undefeated Anzar Hawks basketball team continued its solid play by picking up a 63-41 over the St. Francis Sharks Tuesday night in San Juan Bautista. Leading the way for Anzar was Scott Benson, who led both teams in scoring with 31 points, tying his season average. The Hawks will now enjoy a three-week Christmas break before returning to the court Jan. 5 where they will travel to Soledad High School where they will take on the Aztecs in a 7 p.m. contest.

Boys soccer

San Benito 5, Soquel 1

After struggling with their scoring the whole season, the San Benito High boys soccer team exploded in a big way Monday against Soquel and picked up a 5-1 win. The win moved the struggling Balers to 1-4-1 for the season. Omar Bravo, Eddie Trujillo, Colin Kay, Efrain Espinoza and Daniel Lozano scored the goals for the Balers.

Girls soccer

Anzar 2, King City 0

The Anzar Hawks improved their overall record to 5-3 after ousting King City by a 2-0 margin Tuesday in King City. Mackenzie Quaid and Leah Jimenez scored the Hawks goals.
