Jacob B. Mulkey (Jake) passed away peacefully at home in Morgan Hill, CA, on September 6, 2007, after a courageous struggle with kidney cancer.
Jake was born and raised in the bay area and graduated from Los Gatos High School. He worked at IBM in San Jose for 26 years until his retirement in 2003.
Jake was a skilled conversationalist and loved talking to people. His hobbies included traveling, camping, and playing with his grandkids. He will be missed greatly.
Survivors include Jake’s wife, Tisha Sheeder Mulkey and his stepdaughter, Crystal Cheney. Jake’s four children are: Charlene and her husband Joseph, (of Morgan Hill, CA), Jacob and his wife Jennifer, (of Meridian, Idaho), Shawn and her husband Ahron, (of La Honda, CA), and Erin and her husband David, (of Boulder Creek, CA). Jake’s beloved grandchildren are; David and Zakkary Howard, Sarah and Jenna Ramirez, Natalie Mulkey and Anissa Padilla. Jake also leaves behind his sister Sharron Spangler and her husband Fred, (of Winston, OR), and their daughters.
Jake’s family wishes to thank his cousins and friends for their love and support during his struggle. We would also like to thank the skilled medical professionals at Stanford University Medical Center, Valley Medical Center and Dr. Steven Scates and his staff.
