James Edward Link, 70 of Mariposa passed away Thursday, January 19th peacefully with his family by his side at Memorial Medical Center in Modesto. Jim was born in San Francisco on December 22, 1946.

His early years were spent in Morgan Hill, later in Tracy and eventually in Patterson. Jim and Mary retired in Mariposa and have been there for the past 10 years. He was a man that was passionate about his family, especially his wife Mary. They were married for over 45 years.

Over the years he was a business owner for Shamrock Pizza, leased a restaurant at Tracy Oasis Marina and managed a True Value Hardware store for over 15 years. In addition, Jim was a US Vietnam War Army Veteran. He enjoyed spending time with his children and his grandchildren, whether it was watching the 49er game or Sponge Bob, it made no difference to him. He loved gardening, cooking, playing poker, and overall enjoyed living on his mountain surrounded by wildlife, including his beloved dogs Missy and Buster.

Jim is survived by his wife, Mary Kathryn Link; sons, Brad Link of Mariposa and John Link of Fremont; daughters, Tambrina Link of Sacramento, Jennifer Dumas of Galt and Mary Emehiser of Patterson; brothers, Robert Keith Link of Palm Springs and Don Savarino of the Bay Area; sisters, Jane Squeri of Morgan Hill and Mary Ann Hernandez of Nevada; eleven grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Phil Link, Wayne Link and Frank Savarino; sisters, Carole Sherbula and Becky Burke.

A Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, February 10th at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Patterson. A reception at the Masonic Hall, 650 N 6th St Patterson, will immediately follow.
