Longtime Hollister resident Jim Horn passed away at Hazel Hawkins Memorial Hospital on July 1st at the age of 77. Jim was a member of Sacred Heart Parish; a member of and a former Officer of the Hollister Lodge No. 1436, B.P.O.E; a member of the SIRS; the Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 234 of Castroville; a veteran of the Korean War, and had been a long time member of the former Hollister Dance Club. Jim and his spouse Shirley celebrated their 52nd wedding anniversary last October 16th. He and Shirley liked to travel aboard cruise ships to different parts of the world with the Friends Forever Tours, as well as spending time in the out-of-doors fishing with his buddies.
In addition to his spouse Shirley, Jim is survived by his children Jill Martin, husband Doug, of Dublin, CA and Michael Horn of Savannah, Georgia; sisters Margaret Petree of North Highlands, and Jennie Moore of Hollister; his sister-in-law Olivia Horn of Hollister; many nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by his brother Horace Horn.
Friends were invited to a Mass of The Resurrection at St. Benedict Church 1200 Fairview Rd., Hollister on Tuesday July 8th at 10:00 A.M. followed by the Hollister Elk’s Lodge Memorial Service and military honors provided by Hollister Post No. 9242, V.F.W. Inurnment, St. Benedict’s Columbarium.
Donations are preferred to the Alzheimer’s Assn. or Multiple Sclerosis Society c/o the mortuary.
