Javier, beloved husband, father, brother, tio and friend passed away surrounded by family, at home, on Sunday, March 4, 2012. Javier was born in Mexico City in 1937, to Carlos and Guadalupe, the fifth of eight children.

He followed his father and brothers, Joe and Manuel to California in 1954 to work for the Bonfante Family at the Madrone Market in north Morgan Hill. He returned to Mexico City where he met, wooed and married the love of his life, Carmen Morfin, his wife of 52 years. They returned to California, started a family and began a long career with Nob Hill Foods.

Javier is survived by his wife, Carmen, his children, Javier, Carmen, Jorge, Monica, Adriana and Joe and his brothers and sisters, Teresita, Jose, Manuel, Ernestina, Rafael, Maria Eugenia and Josefina. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Eric, Marisa, Mario, Nick, Monica, Sami, Trent, Allie, Clay, Julianna and Jacob and many ni eces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his daughter, Teresita. He always gathered family around him and he will be missed more than words can say.

A viewing will be held Thursday, March 8th, 2012, from 5:00-9:00 P.M. at Habing Family Funeral Home, Gilroy. Funeral Mass Friday, March 9th, 2012, 10:00 A.M. at St. Mary Catholic Church, Gilroy.
