Jean Costa, 78, passed away peacefully on July 9, 2012 with her family by her side due to complications from ALS. Jean was the beloved wife of 60 years to Harold. She was the daughter to Jerome and Lila Penniman and devoted mother to Pam of Ronhert Park, Steve (Teresa) of Gilroy, and Randy (Ann) also of Gilroy. She is survived by her brother Gerald (Charlotte) of Walnut Creek and her four grandchildren Kyle, Kendall, Thomas, and Kevin all from Gilroy.

 Jean graduated from San Jose High School, lived her entire life in San Jose, and worked 30 years for the Oak Grove School District. She was an avid SF Giants fan and was well known for her famous chocolate cake.

 Friends and family are invited to attend services on Tuesday, July 17, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. at Chapel of the Hills, 615 N. Santa Cruz Ave. in Los Gatos. There will be a private burial at Oak Hill Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to the ALS Association at ALSA.org would be greatly appreciated.
