Jean L. Chance, a former resident of San Bernardino, passed away peacefully at her home in Hollister. She was 83.
Mrs. Chance was an avid bowler and played on all star and traveling teams. She loved to knit, crochet and quilt.
Jean and John Chance moved to Hollister 1984. They lived at the Mission Oaks Mobile Home Park, and in the 1970’s and 1980’s they were active in square dance and joined the local club here. They traveled to many clubs as far away as Calgary, Canada and West Yellowstone for the U.S. square dance convention. They moved back to San Bernardino in 1989.
Mrs. Chance enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid fisherman. Her favorites were fly-fishing trips to Blue River, OR and salmon fishing on the Rogue River in Gold Beach, OR.
She is survived by her daughter Jonean Chance of Hollister, her brother William Palmblade of Costa Mesa and by numerous nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Chance was preceded in death by her son John L. Chance Jr., husband John L. Chance Sr., and sister Dorothy Mae Torrence, all of San Bernardino.
Internment was in San Bernardino, July 18.
