John Charles Meacham, known as Chuck or “Chick” to his close friends and family, died Monday at the Veteran’s Hospital in Palo Alto after a lengthy illness. He was born in Bakersfield on April 27, 1933 to the late Edna Mae and Guy Meacham. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sisters; Gloria Meacham White and Betty Meacham Eberhardt and his in-laws Louie and Rita Angelino. He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Geraldine Angelino Meacham, his son David and daughter-in-law Lori and grandchildren; Jenna and Bradley all of Gilroy. Also his sister-in-law Laura Angelino; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Frank and Betty Angelino, all of Gilroy; step sister-in-law Deb Togliatti of Mountain View; brother of James Gregg Meacham and his wife Joyce of Bakersfield and his sister Kathy Meacham Horstman and her husband Ed of Montana. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews as well as great-nieces and nephews. Chuck served in both the Korean and Vietnam Wars and later was co-owner of M&M Trucking in Bakersfield. Chuck and his family relocated to Gilroy in 1995. He was a member of St. Mary Church and the Gilroy Elks Lodge. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations to the Palo Alto Veteran’s Hospice Care Center, 3801 Miranda Avenue, Palo Alto, CA 94304 or the Gilroy Elk’s Lodge Charity Fund.

Funeral Services will be Friday, August 3, 2007 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Mary Church, Gilroy.
