John Samuel Wolfinbarger April 12, 1924 – May 5, 2016

 John was born in Riverside, CA and passed away at the age of 92 at his home in San Martin, CA.
 As a young man, John entered the Navy as a fireman first class, serving on the USS Iowa from 1943 to 1945.
 John held many jobs over the years including working in the lumber mill in Eureka, and janitorial services in San Jose area and Morgan Hill school district.
 John was a tireless volunteer with many local groups, including Lions Club, RPEA, San Martin Neighborhood Alliance, which named him citizen of the year. John loved speaking to the High School students about his years of service in the Navy and was an inspiration to many.
John’s greatest passion was volunteering as a guide and docent on the USS Iowa, the ship that he served on, now docked at San Pedro.
