John Semenza was born in Hollister to John and Mary Semenza. John was preceded in death by his wife, Lucille (Sersen) Semenza of Watsonville.
 He is survived by his brother, Al Semenza and sister-in-law, JoAnn of Hollister; his sister, Beverly Johnson and husband, George of Santa Clara, a nephew, Kurt Johnson and nieces, Sheryl Neufeld and family, Janis Johnson, Joni Johansson and numerous cousins in Hollister.
 John was a lifelong member of the Elks Lodge and an avid sportsman in his early days. He was a 1942 graduate of San Benito High School. During WWII, he served three years in the US Air Force, after which he obtained his private pilot’s license. He ran a business in Hollister for many years until retirement.
 John and Lucille lived in Watsonville until her death; he returned to Hollister and his family home, where he lived until a rest home was necessary. He resided at Mabie Southside Skilled Nursing Facility in Hollister where he was treated with wonderful care for his last three years.
 The Semenza family raised apricots and farmed two orchards in Hollister during the 1930’s and 1940’s.
 Private family services will be held at a later date. Mehl’s Colonial Chapel was entrusted with funeral arrangements.
