John Stanley Fear passed away at his home in Aromas on Monday, Nov. 5, 2007 at the age of 68. A native of Shalersville, Ohio, he lived in this area for 28 years.

John served in the Army from 1962 to 1964 during the Cuban Crisis. He retired from the Monterey Bay Unified Air Pollution Control District after 25

years. He was a member of the Monterey Bay Chapter of the Begonia Society and also was an accomplished cabinet maker who loved to work with wood.

He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Patricia; two sons, Michael Fear (Jean) of Kansas and Christopher Fear (Pam) of Marina; three grandchildren, Monica, Michael, and Amy; four step-grandchildren, Melissa, Michelle, Dana and Jennifer; nine step-great-grandchildren, two brothers, Charles Fear (Jeanette) of Arizona and George Fear (Evelyn) of Ohio and two sisters, Ruth

Williams (Bob) and Norma Degon (Phillip) both of Washington and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister Carolyn Davis in 1971.

Friends and family may visit at Davis Memorial Chapel in Watsonville on Fri., Nov. 9 from 12 noon to 5 P.M. and from 6-9 P.M. Services will be on Sat., Nov. 10 at 1:00 P.M. at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, 720 Monterey St. in Hollister. A reception will follow at the church. Burial will be private on Monday at Pajaro Valley Memorial Park.
