Jorge Luis Garza, Sr.

Jorge Luis Garza was born on August 13, 1952 and raised in Gilroy, CA. He passed away on August 25, 2009 in San Jose, CA. He is preceded in death by his loving wife Ermelinda Garza; father, Flavio Garza, Sr.; brother, Flavio Garza, Jr.; and dear sister, Sylvia Carranza. Jorge is survived by his five children (and spouses) George Garza (Rochelle); Nadine Garza; Sylvia Garza (Luis Gamez); Angelica Gonzalez (Carlos); and Michael Garza (Nicole Hobden). Jorge loved his grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with them. They are Priscilla, Elijah, Josiah and Micaiah Garza; Felipe Palacios, Jr.; Joseph and Isaiah Caudillo; Kristen Aguirre; Kaley and Ricky Gamez; Carlos, Jr., Michael and Maya Gonzalez; and Nathaniel and Leah Garza. Jorge is also survived by his caring mother, Lydia Darias; sisters, Mary Garza and Teresa Barba (William); brothers, Charlie Carranza and Juan Carranza (Heather); and many nieces and nephews. Jorge enjoyed years working at a warehouse where he became friends with fellow employees with whom he shared much laughter and many meals Ermelinda would prepare for warehouse staff. Jorge will be greatly missed by family and friends. A viewing will be held on Wednesday, September 2, 2009, starting at 1:00 P.M. followed by an evening service at 6:00 P.M.; and a funeral service Thursday, September 3, 2009 at 10:00 A.M. all at Habing Family Funeral Home followed by interment at Gavilan Hills Memorial Park in Gilroy, CA.
