Josephine "Jo-Jo" Jimenez October 12, 1924 - February 3, 2012

Josephine Jo Jo” Jimenez, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Friday, February 3, 2012, in Hanford, CA. She was 87 years old. Born in Mountain View, CA to the late Nicolas and Maria Perez, the family later moved to Watsonville, CA where she graduated High School and met the love of her life Daniel Jimenez, who has preceded her in death. She was a phone operator for the military during World War II. She married Danny and moved to Dinuba, CA where they purchased the Tower Theatre, and later changed the name to Maya Theater. They managed the Maya until 1977.

Jo-Jo moved back to Hollister, California and was assistant manager of the Show Case Theatre owned by her sister Julia Maheu.

Jo-Jo loved her family and was so good with children that they would flock to her at the theatre in Hollister. She was also known for having the best Hot Dogs at the theatre in Dinuba.

Jo-Jo is survived by her three children; Daniel N. Jimenez of Clovis, California, Nancy C. Lizarraga of Phoenix, Arizona, Linda Gail Luena of Hanford, CA. She is also survived by six grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and one sister, Julia Maheu of Hollister, CA.

Friends are invited to the hour of visitation on Friday, February 10th at the Grunnagle Ament Nelson Funeral Home 870 San Benito St., Hollister 95023 beginning at 9:0 A.M., followed by her funeral service beginning at 10:00 A.M. Entombment will be at Calvary Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Jo-Jo’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association c/o the funeral home.
