The fire was reported at about 6 a.m. near the intersection of Helen Court and Helen Drive south of Hollister. San Benito County fire crews responded, along with help from Hollister fire and Calfire.
When they arrived, there was smoke showing from one unit and the occupant was outside, according to Calfire.
Firefighters quickly put out the blaze. Most damage was to the kitchen, while there was some other smoke damage in the unit. The cost estimate for damages is unclear, according to Calfire.
