at the U.C. Hospital in San Fransisco. She was 24.

Former Hollister resident Lanette Valdez died Monday, Aug. 18, at the U.C. Hospital in San Fransisco. She was 24.

She was a graduate of San Andreas High School, an Oakland Raiders fan and was involved in Aztec dancing.

She is survived by her husband Diego Valdez of Watsonville, son Diego Gilbert Valdez of Watsonville, parents Gilbert and Nena Sanchez of Hollister, brother Charles Tumbaga of Salinas, sister Monica Riojas of Morgan Hill, grandparents Paul and Esperanza Riojas of Watsonville and her parents-in-law Porfirio and Gloria Valdez of Watsonville.

A Rosary service will be held Thursday, Aug. 21, at Valley Catholic Church, 240 E. Lake, at 7 p.m. A Mass will be held Friday, Aug. 22, at 1:30 p.m. at Valley Church followed by burial at the Valley Public Cemetery.
