Leonard Gomez passed away on April 15, 2007 after a lengthy illness. As a young man he enjoyed being with his family and friends, farming, and riding his motorcycle. At holidays and gatherings, he was always the life of the party. He loved singing and making people laugh. Later in his life he enjoyed following the San Francisco 49ers, as well as other sports, and collecting model cars.
Leonard was preceded in death by his wife, Lydia Gomez, brothers: Albert “Chon”, Angel, Augie, Louie Abraham (Nancy) and sisters Ofelia (Henry), Julia (Cuco).
He is survived by his wife Aurora, daughter Cindy (Tom), Frank “Pancho”, stepdaughter Rosemary (Dino), stepson Jaime, sisters Rosie (Tony), Gloria (John), Margaret (Greg), grandchildren: Chantel, Alejandro, Christian, Cameron, and Salina, as well as numerous nephews and nieces.
Services are being prepared by Habing Funeral Chapel. The Rosary will be on Thursday, April 19, 2007 at 7:00 P.M. at Habing Funeral Chapel. A Catholic Mass will be held on Friday, April 20, 2007 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Mary Church in Gilroy. Visitation will start at 1:00 P.M. on Thursday .
