Lily Biafore is the most amazing dog anyone could ask for, and she is all mine! Lily came into my life when I needed a companion the most. When I saw her as a puppy in the pet store, I knew right away that we needed each other. Being young and broke, I asked my wonderful uncle if he would pay for her, and I could pay him back in monthly installments. When I made the final payment to my uncle, it was the best feeling in the world because she was all mine, and I had paid for her all by myself.
When I bought Lily, I was going through an extremely rough time in my life. I was going through severe depression and I was having some serious issues. I had tried to take my life on many occasions, and I was self harming on a daily basis. I felt that my world was hopeless, and there was no need for me to be alive because I didn’t have a purpose.
From the first time I saw and held Lily I knew that we needed each other more than anything. Here was a helpless puppy who needed an owner, and there I was needing a companion to love. I knew right then and there that I was to be her mommy!
Before I got Lily, I was in and out of hospitals for my depression and self harming. Once I became Lily’s mommy I went back to the hospitals on a couple occasions, but I knew I couldn’t be in and out because I needed to be there for her. Ultimately, I stopped going in and out of hospitals, and I have overcome my depression and self harming. Thanks to the support and love from Lily and my boyfriend, I have got my life back on the right track.
I recently started going to San Jose State University, where I have moved into a dorm on campus. Unfortunately, living in a dorm on campus means I cannot have animals. My first week away I missed Lily like crazy! On the drive home for the weekend, I told my boyfriend that I couldn’t wait to see her, and he said, “You missed her more than you missed me!” When I opened the front door to my mom’s house, Lily came running to me and slobbered me with kisses!
Lily and I are inseparable when we are together. As I write this, she is sitting at my feet! We’ll go camping together, and she’ll be upset when I leave her with my boyfriend while I use the restroom. She loves to go for car rides, even if it’s a quick one to get food at McDonald’s. She is quite a character and she loves to take pictures. Once I turned the flashlight app on my phone on and she sat really still and stared at my phone. She thought I was going to take a picture of her!
Lily’s undying love keeps me going. Whenever I am down in the dumps, she will come sit and cuddle with me. She means the world to me, and she has been my lifesaver, literally. She is very unique and special, and I’m a proud mommy to say that she is my daughter! I’m so glad she came into my life, and I don’t know what I would do without her. She is a one of a kind dog, and I love her to death!
