Madge W. Soares

Memorial Mass to be held Noon, October 26, 2013, at St. Catherine’s, 17400 Peak Avenue. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Catherine’s Building Fund 17400 Peak Ave., Morgan Hill, CA 95037.
 Born October 30, 1919; born into eternal life September 12, 2013.
 A graduate of Roosevelt High School in Seattle, WA, Madge met and married her husband of 68 years, John F. Soares, during WWII.
 After the war, they settled in Morgan Hill, CA and raised five children. Madge worked as a bookkeeper, was then elected to City Clerk in 1958, an office she held until 1984. She was also Manager of Administrative Services for city hall.
 Madge was a dynamic woman, passionate about many things: her politics (liberal Democrat), bridge, sewing, needlecraft, but especially, her friends and family.
 She is survived by two of her children, Gina Jones (Bill) and Todd Soares, grandsons Michael Knutson (Amy) and Luke Knutson (Nowelle), granddaughters Megan Jones-Curran (Terry) and Elizabeth Jones, great-granddaughters Aria and Charlie Knutson, great-grandson Blue Knutson, her son-in-law Daniel Sigler.    
 She is rejoining her husband John, daughter Margo Sigler, sons John-Scott and Matt, and her brother Carl Walske.
