Sheriff's deputies responded to a fatal shooting near Gilroy Saturday morning.

The Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Department says a man was shot and killed in an unincorporated area just east of Gilroy Saturday morning.

Sheriff’s deputies responded to a reported shooting at 2700 block of Leavesley Road around 8:47 a.m. and located a deceased male in his 60s, according to a press release.

His name has not been released at this time.

The Sheriff’s department said the suspects fled the scene prior to law enforcement’s arrival.

The two suspects are described as wearing dark clothing, including black ski masks, and were armed with an unknown type of handgun. They were seen fleeing the area on foot, according to the press release.

No further suspect descriptions are available at this time.
