Hollister police this week arrested a 21-year-old resident suspected of attempted burglary in connection with a trespassing into a home.
Police arrested Conrad Copado, of Hollister, following the attempted burglary Monday in the 1700 block of Valley View Road.
Police received the report at 1:44 a.m. that four or five people had been trespassing in a back yard of a home, while evidence revealed they had been trying to force entry, according to a statement released Thursday.
Police arrived and met with witnesses who reported the suspected had fled by jumping fences in nearby yards. Police searched the area and found two males hiding in a front hard on Sunset Drive. Copado and a 14-year-old juvenile were detained, according to police, and both appeared to be intoxicated.
A witness identified Copado as a suspect who attempted to force entry into the home on Valley View Road, according to police. Police booked Copado into the San Benito County Jail on suspicion of attempted burglary, contributing to the delinquency of a minor and a violation of felony probation.
Police released the 14-year-old suspect to a relative after citing the minor for obstructing an officer and resisting arrest, according to police.
