Maria Gomez passed away in Hollister at the age of 87. She was born in Guasti, CA and lived in Hollister for many years returning in 1970.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Guadalupe Gomez and was a member of Sacred Heart Church, worked at the local cannery and was a member of the Teamsters Union Local 890.
She is survived by her children and their spouses, Isabel Villarreal of Hollister, Rodolfo Gomez (Belia) of Hollister, Victor Gomez (Alta) of San Jose, Miguel Gomez (Elvira) of El Centro, Irma Ambriz (Benjamin) of Mexicali, Belia Hernandez (Gustavo) of Hollister, Gloria Garcia (Rafael) of Hollister, Maria E. Herrera (Eduardo) of San Juan Bautista, Abraham Gomez of Hollister, Marciano Gomez (Guadalupe) of El Centro and Georgina Corral (Eulalio) of Hollister, her sister and brothers, Francisca Bugarin of Calexico, Fermin DeLaCruz of Mexicali and Julio DeLaCruz of Mexicali and 42 grandchildren, 50 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Friends can pay their respects on Thursday, May 3, 2012, from 1:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. at Black Cooper Sander Funeral Home. The Rosary will be at 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
The Mass will be on Friday, May 4, 2012, at 12:00 noon at St. Benedict Catholic Church. Friends can gather at the funeral home at 11:15 A.M. for a procession to the church. Interment will follow the Mass at Calvary Cemetery.
