Maria Gonzalez was born on August 8, 1948, in Gilroy, CA and passed away surrounded by her loved ones on February 2, 2016, after a long battle with liver disease.
Maria is survived by her loving husband of 41 years, Antonio Gonzalez; children, Gregory, Joel, Joshua, Sarah, and Isaiah Gonzalez; and grandchildren, Gregory Jr, Analicia, Alexis, Laykn, Ermelinda and Sophia. Maria is also survived by her brothers, Manuel E Alfaro; Johnny Gonzales; and sisters, Diana Garcia; Gloria Dominguez; Hilda Holly; Rosanna Rosso; and Daniella Lozano.
She is preceded in death by her dear mother, Alicia T. Gonzales; sister, Ermelinda Garza; brother, Francisco (Frank) Gonzales and Martin (Angel) Gonzales.
Maria had a heart after God. She sought to please him in all she did. Her faith was her foundation, and on that foundation she raised her family.
She adored her children. Her most treasured moments were spent with her family. Nana Maria was over the moon for her grandchildren. They were her joy. She was always looking forward to spoiling them and loving on them.
She loved Monterey. She enjoyed walks on the beach and window shopping. She found pleasure in doing puzzles and taking walks. She enjoyed the rainy days and Christmas lights, a warm cup of coffee and doing garden work. Maria had a heart for animals, but especially dogs. Maria was a mother to all. She loved all of her nieces and nephews. She was always opening up her home to anyone who needed a place to stay.
Maria longed to one day see her Saviour. In this life, she had many trials, and carried the burden of liver disease, for over 30 years. She is now at peace and we rejoice with her. Her beautiful, selfless spirit will be forever missed, her words of wisdom, forever cherished and her presence forever felt.
We love you Babe, Momma, Nana, Sister and Friend.
