A descendant of strong Chamorro tradition, Mariquita “Tita” Sablan Locsin grew up in the era of the Japanese occupation of Guam during WWII.

She and her husband of 62 years emigrated to California in 1967 and nurtured one of the largest families in the South Bay. A truly inspirational matriarch, Tita is survived by husband, Benny, and 14 children, 40 grandchildren, and 23 great-grandchildren.

An influential member of the Bay Area Women’s Guam Club, she instilled a strong sense of Guamanian culture onto all her children, and leaves a legacy of the island spirit/respect for generations to come. Simply put, her greatest power was the glorious love and infectious kindness sprinkled upon all blessed by her presence.

The Locsin Family would like to thank Amedisys Home Health Care, St. Catherine’s Church, Bay Area Women’s Guam Club, South Bay Filipino-American Association, and the tremendous outpour of support from the multitude of dear friends and family both near and afar. U Guiya Hao!
