Visitation will be on Thursday, December 27th, 2012, from 1:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M., at Grunnagle-Ament-Nelson Funeral Home Chapel with the recitation of the Rosary at 7:00 P.M. Family and friends will leave the mortuary chapel on Friday morning at 9:15 A.M. for a Mass of The Resurrection at 10:00 A.M. at the Old Mission San Juan Bautista. Mary Ann Ryan died peacefully at home on December 19, 2012, in Hollister after a short illness.
Born September 5, 1941, in Gilroy to Peter John Fillippelli and Bernadine Ida (Blarttler) Fillippelli.
Mary Ann taught first and third grades at Hellyer School on Hellyer Avenue in San Jose for 33 years retiring in 1996. She was an avid collector of antiques, enjoyed reading and touring in our horseless carriages.
She is survived by Kenneth Ryan, her husband of 40 years, her sisters-in-law Karen Kelly (Dan) and Linda Harrell. She is also survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends from both teaching and the Horseless Carriage Club.
