night and got away with $2,600 and other personal items after
stunning two of the involved residents with stun guns, according to
the Hollister Police Department.

Two masked men entered two separate Line Street homes Wednesday night and got away with $2,600 and other personal items after stunning two of the involved residents with stun guns, according to the Hollister Police Department.
The two victims chased them but did not locate the suspects after flagging down a ride from a passerby, said Sgt. David Westrick with the police department.
The robberies occurred around 11 p.m. Wednesday when two masked men “forced themselves” into a residence in the 500 block of Line Street. Westrick said the two suspects, armed with what appeared to be fake handguns and stun guns, broke into the first of two residences and awoke the victim while demanding money. The victim brought the suspects his wallet, which contained $400.
The suspects then went to another residence in the area and stole $2,200 from someone, along with a camera and jewelry from a bedroom. When the suspects entered the second residence, both victims tried to lure the robbers out of the house. During this, one of the suspects “might have been stunned temporarily,” according to Westrick. He added that both victims were stunned “several times.”
The suspects fled from the scene after seeing other residents and got into what police describe as a silver Honda and drove away. The victims then flagged down a passerby and began to chase the suspects to the area of San Benito and Haydon streets. They were unable to locate them, and Westrick said the Honda was last seen northbound on San Benito Street.
Both suspects were wearing dark clothing, gloves and had dark bandanas covering their faces, and one was described as a heavy-set Hispanic man. At the time, police issued an “immediate ‘be on the lookout for’ that description,” Westrick said. He added there may have been a third suspect involved.
“Everyone has been contacted, and there is some conflicting information,” he said. “We are trying to hash that out.”
Officials from the Hollister Fire Department and American Medical Response tended to the victims, and no injuries were reported from the incident.
