Merian Reis Williams, age 83, a Hollister resident since 1985,
passed away on May 23 in Morgan Hill.
Merian Reis Williams, age 83, a Hollister resident since 1985, passed away on May 23 in Morgan Hill.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 40 years, retired Army Colonel Cyril Williams of Hollister; sister Helen Garcia of San Jose; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and three brothers.

Born July 7, 1921 to Anthony and Theresa Reis in San Jose, she attended Campbell High School. During WWII she worked in the defense industry as an inspector in aircraft production, and later qualified as a licensed hair dresser. As an avid hobbyist she excelled in handcrafts including ceramics and generously gave finished products to friends and relatives.

Services will be conducted at Black Cooper Sander Funeral Home at 10am on Thursday, May 26. Private interment at San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery in Santa Nella.
