Mildred Joann Freeborn December 11, 1932 - September 25, 2013

A memorial will be held in Bakersfield at Greenlawn Mortuary on River Str. at 10:00 A.M. on Monday, September 30th, 2013. A Celebration of her Life will be held at 2352 Los Viboras Rd in Hollister on October 6th, 2013, at 1:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to “Ag in the Classroom” in care of the San Benito Farm Bureau.
 Mildred was born in Compton, CA. She attended Bakersfield High School and married Clarence R. Freeborn in 1948 in Sacramento, CA.
 She and Clarence farmed together with family in Buttonwillow, CA until 1976 when they relocated to Hollister.
 While living in Hollister, she worked for the Farm Bureau of San Benito County as the executive secretary for 21 years and was an active member or the San Benito County Cattlewomen’s Association.
 After Clarence passed away in 2009 she moved back to Bakersfield. She moved to Solera at Del Webb and enjoyed joining clubs and making many new friends.
 She is survived by her three childred Richard (Debra) Freeborn, Jacque (Mike) Kennedy, and Jeanne (John Montes) Bourdet as well as 11 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Also surviving are her two brother Harold Lorton and Leo Lorton and her sister Dorthy Stephans.
 The family would especially like to thank the AIS Cancer Center, Dr Oscar Streeter, Dr Vikas Ghai and their staff members Kelly, Olga, Julie, Lourdes, Brenda, Llynn, Jacqui and Nick for their kindness and caregiving. The family is also grateful for the caring heart of the staff of Adventist Home Health Care ( Marie, Shimron, Jewel, Xu, Mickey, Diana and Myrna) and for the care provided by Gentiva Hospice.
 Thank you Mom you’ve been an inspirational wife, mother and grandma.We love you.
