BATTERY TO A PEACE OFFICER: Felix Soliz Verdusco, Jr., 40, of 850 Hillcrest Rd. #19 in Hollister, was arrested by San Benito County Sheriff's deputies for battery to a peace officer and violation of parole, both felonies, resisting arrest, providing false information to a peace officer and being under the influence of heroin, all misdemeanors, at 2900 Fairview Road at 3:25 p.m. on Wednesday. After deputies responded to the residence for a report of a suspicious vehicle and began talking to Verdusco they discovered he had several outstanding warrants out of Monterey County. When they told him they were going to arrest him he tried to escape, and when deputies caught him he scratched and hit them. Police administered pepper spray and finally took him into custody, according to deputies.

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE: Guillermo Palafox, 49, of 9 Line St. in Hollister, was arrested by Hollister police for domestic violence, a felony, after he pushed his wife into a wall at 10:31 p.m. on Saturday. She suffered pain to her back but refused medical attention.

DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE: Michelle Ann Guitierrez, 19, of 3377 Cienega Rd. in Hollister, was arrested by the California Highway Patrol for felony driving under the influence at 4:45 a.m. on Sunday when she drove her car off the roadway and overturned on Quien Sabe Road, west of Santa Ana Valley Road. Guitierrez's passenger was ejected and suffered minor injuries, and Guitierrez was transported to Hazel Hawkins Hospital with a broken pelvis and broken ankle, according to the CHP.
