Red Phone 6/18
It's Friday and that means the Crimson Crusader has been on the horn taking calls and finding answers for concerned residents in San Benito County. The Red Phone has been busy this week, with a question about water in the streets, a wrong address in our calendar section and why elections ballots are printed in Spanish. Don't forget, questions are always welcome on the Red Phone, but comments are too. Want to throw in your two cents? Call the Red Phone.

Police Blotter 6/17
ALCOHOL-RELATED ACCIDENT: Timothy Valencia, 19, of 60 Los Altos Dr. in Hollister, was life-flighted to San Jose Medical Center with internal injuries and injuries to his head and knee after crashing his 1995 Honda Civic into two road signs, a parked 1973 Lincoln Continental and a fence at Sunnyslope and Dry Creek roads at 1:45 a.m. on Wednesday. Hollister police found beer in Valencia's car and there was a strong odor of alcohol, but he was conscious and acting "obnoxious and bleeding all over the place" when officers arrived, police said. Valencia also has an outstanding warrant for a rape that occurred about a year ago, police said. Both vehicles were totaled.
