I imagine a room full of clever people—copywriters, editors, graphic designers, advertising executives—tossing out ideas rapid fire, searching for that one short, punchy, memorable statement that captures the imagination and the essence of the brand, and they did it; they gave us—Just Do It.

Local cadets take first in competition: The Chesty Puller BN, United States Naval Sea Cadet Corps, a naval youth program which covers the Monterey Bay area, recently placed first in their division at the annual Seamanship Challenge held at Coast Guard Island in Alameda. The unit competed in teams of four, and earned third place for Line Heaving; second place in the Obstacle Course; First place for Close Order Drill; First place in Damage Control; and First place in the Stretcher Relay. This gave them an overall first place in the Combined Units Division.

Two killed, five injured in Saturday wreck on Highway 152

A San Jose man and Campbell woman were killed in a Saturday morning accident on Highway 152 west of Lover's Lane, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Two Hollister residents killed in Highway 101 crash

Two Hollister men died in a traffic accident on U.S. 101 in Morgan Hill early Sunday morning, according to authorities. 

The two men were southbound on the freeway in a 2005 Nissan about 1:30 a.m. Sunday, according to the California Highway Patrol. 

For an unknown reason, the vehicle traveled off the roadway onto the right shoulder just south of the Tennant Avenue exit and collided with a sign post, authorities said. Both occupants of the vehicle suffered fatal injuries as a result of the collision. 

The Santa Clara County Coroner’s Office identified the driver as Colton Moag, 23, and the passenger as Tyler Raisbeck, 30. Both were Hollister residents. 

Updated: Second suspect arrested in San Juan burglary string

San Benito High School trustees unanimously approved the San Jose-based Aedis Architects to complete existing and future district projects – including revising the school's master plan – at a special meeting this week.
