Law enforcement to hold drug take-back event
Three law enforcement agencies will host a prescription drug disposal event at the Target store, 1790 Airline Hwy., in Hollister on Sept. 29, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The San Benito County Sheriff's Office, the Hollister Police Department and the Drug Enforcement Administration are working in conjunction to put the event together.
Praise given for curfew law changes
The San Benito County Gang Prevention Policy Committee members spent some time at their meeting last Wednesday to thank the three jurisdictions that approved daytime and nighttime curfews that will allow across the board enforcement in Hollister, San Juan Bautista and San Benito County.

Caltrans commits to funding bypass upgrades
A local delegation met with Caltrans officials this week and obtained a commitment from the state agency to fully fund millions of dollars in upgrades that were deemed necessary before a swap could occur in which the city receives control of San Benito Street in downtown Hollister.
