Friends are invited to attend a memorial service and celebration of Nora’s life on Friday, November 7, 2014, at 11:00 A.M.,at St. Benedict’s Church, 1200 Fairview Rd., Hollister. CA. Private inurnment at St. Benedict’s Columbarium will be at a later date. Memorials are preferred to the Y.M.C A. of San Benito County or the donors favorite charity. Long-time Hollister resident, Nora Mary Schipper passed away in San Jose on November 3, 2014, at the age of 91 years.
Nora was a native of Santa Cruz. She attended Davenport Grammar School and graduated from Santa Cruz High School.
A resident of Hollister since 1949. During her life, she devoted her time to Sacred Heart Parish; was a member of the Children’s Home Society and Kinship Auxiliary, the Sacred Heart School Mothers’ Club, volunteered for the Red Cross, and for 30 years, assisted with the Hazel Hawkins Hospital Auxiliary annual Christmas Bazaar.
A homemaker all of her life, she enjoyed sewing needle point, cooking, and most of all, her children and their families.
Surviving Nora is her husband of 65 years, Howard Schipper; their children, Cathy Leslie (Ian); Ken Schipper (Kathy), Steven Schipper (Laura), and Diane Sardella (Danny); their grandchildren, Collin and Kerry Leslie; Jonathan Wade Schipper, Romyn Schipper Scarpulla (Jenny), and Francis Scarpulla; Joshua Eugene Schipper, and Heidi Forath; Stephanie Rogers and Chris Rogers; Erin and Kyle Cogswell, and Leslie Schipper; Grant and Clayton Sardella; great-grandchildren, Stae Liam Schipper Reyes, Evageline Petra Scarpulla, Ludivico Angel Scarpulla, and Verona Miele Scarpulla; Baleigh Rayne Schipper, Braden Dane Schipper, Evie Schipper, and Liam Schipper; and Calib Cogswell. Her sisters, Gloria Sarow (Bill) and Olga Schipper (late Lester); numerous nieces and nephews.
